Another suburb within Alabama, Mountain Brook. It’s one of the more well known suburbs in Birmingham as of today. It’s a suburbs that doesn’t sleep, because there’s always something to marvel at, and always things to do.
Highland Park Golf Course
If there’s anything mountain Brooke loves, it’s golfing. A great recreational activity for the young and old. It’s upon the oldest in Birmingham, having been available to the public since 1903. It’s friendly to both all ages, and all skill levels. You won’t be cramped with 5,800 yards of golf course around, along with the shifts in elevation, winding creeks, and uphill shots.
The Market at Pepper Place
Ah yes, the farmers market. The heart of Mountain Brook culture. Certain times of the year, vendors set up their tents for rain or shine, every Saturday, and sell to the public. They sell farm fresh food, wares, and unique items. They have an impressive variety with over 120 vendors each time. They even sell food for the now, like ice cream and pastries. If I’m hungry, I know you are!
McWane Science Center
The pinnacle of the perfect field trip ages 1-99. Anybody of all ages can get lost in the wonders of science and engineering feats in the McWane. This is one of those times where education is actually fun. From learning how to crack a combination lock, learning about mass distribution, or observing lightning, there’s always something new to learn with their many exhibits.
